Production process

This wooden deer was made by myself.
This small animal is made of three different types of wood:
Wood type 1 for the body of the animal
Wood type 2 for the legs and the muzzle
Wood type 3 for the antlers
To make this deer, I first create the wood block by gluing the different wood species together.
Then, after drying, the block of wood will be machined with a blade saw by the technique known as "chantournage du bois".
This is done on two sides of the block to create a three-dimensional curved volume.
Finally, the surface of the piece is polished by hand with different grains of sandpaper.
The resulting piece is then treated to protect the wood and give it beautiful, bright, contrasting colours.
